A flick about time travel and incestual lust that also happens to be an all-time family-friendly classic?! Great Scott!
Teenage rocker Marty Mcfly travels back 30 years while assisting his friend, screwball scientist Doc Brown. He soon finds teenage versions of his parents and ends up threatening his existence when his Mom gets the hots for him.
Admittedly, this is about as mainstream as a cult movie can be. But with its iconic props (admit it, you would love a DeLorean), quotes, and trope defining performances (Christopher Lloyd is THE mad scientist), it’s easy to understand why it is still so revered.
Back to the Future is the perfect starting point for cultists in training, who may not be ready for the full-blown oddities of our genre.
Directed by Robert Zemeckis.
Starring Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Crispin Glover.
